OEA-R Committee Posting

Names of persons interested in being considered for the position of OEA-R Representative on the OEA Collective Bargaining and Member Advocacy Committee, the Organizing Strategy Committee or the Local Development and Training Committee are now being accepted. This is to complete a term ending July 14, 2027.

The committees meet twice a fiscal year on dates set by the OEA President

The Collective Bargaining and Member Advocacy Committee shall be responsible for recommending to the OEA Board of Directors and other appropriate entities the creation of OEA strategies that ensure the planning, implementation, and assessment of a Collective Bargaining Program that meets the needs of local affiliates

The Organizing Strategy Committee shall be responsible for recommending to the OEA Board of Directors and other appropriate entities the creation of OEA strategies that ensure the planning, implementation, and regular assessment of an internal and external organizing program that meets the needs of local affiliates and supports their development

The Local Development and Training Committee shall be responsible for recommending to the OEA Board of Directors and other appropriate entities the creation of OEA strategies that ensure the planning, implementation, and regular assessment of a statewide local development and training program that meets the needs of and strengthens local affiliates

Please submit your name to the OEA-R Chair Mary Binegar (binegm@aol.com) AND a copy to the Vice Chair Phil A. Long (palcisv13@gmail.com) no later than midnight March 1, 2024 indicating your wish to be considered for the appointment to one of these committees. Please include a brief statement listing your qualifications and reason for wanting to serve OEA-R on a specific committee.

The recommendation for appointment will take place at the OEA-R Advisory Council Meeting on or before March 14, 2024.
